Dear Mr Harald Welte
I have develop an application which generates from an Excel Sheet all configuration files for
Asterisk PBX VoiP. Support IP Phones are ATCOM and Polycom
I posted the files at http://www.ctunion.com/node/776
The application save hundred of hours of typing and is error free
The ideas of posting the SAMPLES was to get the Open Source to contribute in any manner to have other IP Phones to be supported by it as the FILE format differs from phone brand
e.g. Cisco IP Phone has XML and files name must start by SEPXXXXXXXXX..cnf.xml where the XXXXXXXXX represent the MAC address of the IP Phone
While others are XXXXXXXXXX.cfg and EEEEE.cfg where XXXXXXXXX id MAC Address and EEEEE is the extension number of the Phone
A Company "Linux Solutions (Mauritius) Ltd" where i was a collaborator to configure Asterisk
filed a case against me reques and summon me to remove the files from the Computer Tech Union.
They claimed to own copyright on the SAMPLES and my application with I wish to make Open Source.
They are using Linux and Asterisk which are both under the GNU/GPL open source
and I think any work or part or work meant for Open Source work becomes automatically
Open Source.
The application has been developped using Kylix 3 and C++.
How Can you help me to warn them that its a GNU/GPL Violation?
Regards
Alain Bastien

Quoting Alain Bastien <alainbastien AT gmail.com>:Hi Alain,
Hi,
I am in Mauritius and a Company namely "Linux Solutions Limited" has
violated the GNU/GPL, by claiming Trade Secret and Copyright on works and
Tools and configuration files
for Linux and Asterisk which are both released under OPEN SOURCE.
As far as I know any works or part of work meant for Linux and Asterisk
should be governed under the same GNU and GPL
I wish to report this company to and organization controling the GNU and GPL
regards
Alain Bastien
You should report this at http://gpl-violations.org/support.html and be as specific as possible in your mail to them.
Thanks for the report,
