Hi everyone,

I hope people had a good festive break and a happy new year!

I am Marieke Guy and am co-ordinator of the Open Education Working Group at Open Knowledge. The Open Education Working Group has been established to bring together people and groups interested in open education. Its goal is to initiate global cross-sector and cross-domain activity that encompasses the various facets of open education.

I realise not all the local groups will be participating in open education activities (from open data use in education, use of open education resources to open learning and teaching practices), but I'm sure quite a few of you are! We are running a series of blog posts looking at open education initiatives in different countries and I wondered if you'd be interested in writing something about your particular country.

We are really pretty flexible about what you submit but suggest 600 - 1200 words including a brief introduction to your country and the role open education is playing there. Obviously you can focus on a particular aspect of open education and we are happy for you to cover particular projects or initiatives. Links are great and so are photos, logos, screen dumps etc. We like to give a brief bio of the author and include a photo if possible. I can deal with html, word, text files etc.

If you are interested in writing a blog post - or the group in general then just send me an email!

Look forward to hearing from you!!

Marieke
