I tried making a template at first, but there were spurious differences
between issues, so I ended up copy-pasting from one or several previous
issues. It is just as fast as checking for those darned spurious
differences.

What do you mean by "a bunch of these"?

It means the translation is available. Either the article is on gnu.org,
and the link doesn't change (Apache MultiViews serves the preferred
language), or is is on april.org, and I use the French link. I don't
remember seeing French translations of news or articles on fsf.org or
fsfe.org. In fact, I don't check anymore.
